Abstract :
This paper describes fabrication and experiment of 1.5 kW pulsed solid-state power amplifier (SSPA) with automatic gain equalization circuit for radar application. The 1.5 kW pulsed SSPA consists of two RF power amplifier module (PAM). Each RF power amplifier module has a series 8-cascaded power amplifier. Final RF output power is combined by hybrid ring combiner. Overall dimension of Pulsed SSPA is 39times29times15.6 cm3. Experimental results show peak output power of 1.53 kW, corresponding to PAE of 29% over a frequency range of 2.7 -3.1 GHz with a pulse width 100 musec and a PRF of 1 kHz.
