Abstract :
In this paper, a meandered loop antenna with multi-band operation is proposed for 4G mobile phone application. The meandered loop, which is coupled-fed by a multi-line monopole, excites two fundamental modes at 0.74 and 0.93 GHz and form a 6-dB impedance bandwidth from 0.7 to 0.962 GHz. By adjusting the parameters of the multi-line monopole, the higher modes of the two fundamental modes create another impedance bandwidth from 1.675 to 2.7 GHz. The two 6-dB impedance bandwidths cover the 4G LTE 8-band applications. The overall dimensions of 60×110×10 mm3 with antenna area of 60×11 mm2 and planar structure are suitable for applying in today´s mobile handset.
