Abstract :
Compared to side looking synthetic aperture radar (SAR), forward looking SAR is known to have the disadvantage of the left/right ambiguity problem and the difficulty to achieve high angular resolution (azimuth resolution). This paper considers a radar platform with two or more receiving antennas and one transmitting antenna. In this operation mode, it will be seen that the left/right ambiguity problem can be solved in theory. High angular (azimuth) resolution can be achieved through a long illumination time. The imaging modes, azimuth resolution and the reference matching filter function are analyzed
