Abstract :
In this paper the simulation of several launched and leaky modes in a circle dielectric waveguide with using a finite element method and PML-boundary conditions for limitation of a designed area is made. The received results are compared with a solution of the dispersion equation and the conclusion about inapplicability of PML method for calculations properties of open waveguides near cutoff frequency is made.
