Abstract
A small slot antenna loaded with compact split-ring resonators and fed by a microstrip line for wireless sensor network application is proposed. Due to its compact size, moderate bandwidth, and easy conjugate matching with the system-on-chip by using lumped elements, the proposed antenna is very suitable for the sensor nodes application. The measured impedance bandwidth (|S11| ≤ -10 dB) is ~11% (2.38-2.65GHz), radiation patterns are slot-like, and the peak antenna gain measured at 2.50 GHz is 1.7 dBi.
