  • Abstract
    Adjacent channel interference in the UTRA-TDD system has been investigated. The problem was approached statistically and a computer simulation model was generated. The impacts of four different interference instances, MS→BS, BS→BS, BS→MS and MS→MS, were considered depending on frame synchronisation. The flexibility of the base station location was analysed with respect to varying load in the cells causing the interference. The consequences of adjacent channel interference were found to be fairly severe. Synchronisation was found to have less impact on the system performance than unplanned location of base stations
