Abstract :
The turn-to-turn short circuit (TTSC) fault is one of the most common faults in Brushless Synchronous Generator (BLSG). The robust TTSC fault detection, fault diagnosis and fault protection technique requires better understanding of BLSG behaviour during such conditions. This paper presents modelling of the BLSG with TTSC fault on the stator phase winding. The BLSG is a complex system, a simplified approach is presented in this paper for modelling and simulation of the BLSG with TTSC fault, to analyse the machine behaviour under various degree of TTSC faults. The simulation results show that the developed model is able to exhibit the dynamic and steady state behaviour of the BLSG under healthy and TTSC fault conditions.
