Abstract :
The Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) launched in 2002 collects images having a high spectral and temporal resolution, while the Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM) provides images with a high spatial resolution. Several remote sensing applications such as coastal zones monitoring require to have those characteristics combined in a single image. This leads to perform a fusion method of ETM with MERIS images saving the spatial information of the first and the spectral resolution of the latter. This paper describes a method derived from PAN SHARPENING, but including also overlapping bands. The results of our approach are then compared to the method developed by Zhukov et al. [1].
