Abstract :
This paper summarizes the experience in porting and tuning Oracle7 Parallel Server for nCUBE, a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) computer that contains hundreds of processing elements. The idea of the parallel server where multiple instances of Oracle run against the same database was first developed for a loosely coupled VAX cluster. With the advent of Massively Parallel Systems, nCUBE was chosen to be first MPP platform to support Very Large Database systems
