Abstract :
We present a heat transfer model for data centers where real-time measurement data is used to reduce the complexity in the specifications of the model. As this modeling approach obtains its input directly from real-time measurements (in the form of boundary data), it is suitable for operational and real-time usage. Although the model is simpler than those based on the use of the Navier-Stokes equations for fluid flow, numerical experiments suggest that it can nevertheless provide useful information for use in data center energy management.
