Abstract :
In this paper, the spatio-temporal characteristics of geographic information system are analyzed, a formal definition of spatio-temporal ontology and a method based on spatio-temporal semantic granularity is proposed, an integrated geographic information system architecture based on ontology and semantics is discussed, and a primary implementation of creating and browsing of the spatio-temporal ontology, sharing and reuse of ontology among sub-systems integrated bi-directionally in experimental railway project are given
