  • Abstract
In 1988, a small group of avionics module vendors volunteered to supply detailed PI-Bus interface models to ZYCAD for a demonstration of gate-level system simulation (GLSS). This initial effort, titled GLSS Experiment Zero, was designed to demonstrate the benefits of multivendor simulation early in the procurement process. The experiment provided JIAWG (Joint Integrated Avionics Working Group) and industry with a proof of concept for using gate-level system simulation as a tool for achieving interoperability. The authors describe TI´s view of the GLSS demonstration. They suggested that the accomplishment of Experiment Zero was mostly one of education on what is required to achieve interoperability
