Abstract :
The Phase Gradient Autofocusing (PGA) is a very promising technique that allows the estimation and cancellation of any coherent phase error from an arbitrary complex data set independently on the source mechanism. Its usage is well known in Spot Light SAR post-processing as well as in Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) for stellar-image reconstruction applications, but has not already been investigated in connection to conventional high resolution stripmap SAR modes. The authors describe the possibility of phase gradient algorithm applications for two dimensional phase errors correction of stripmap mode SAR imagery
