Abstract :
This paper, the first in a series of four, presents the conceptual design of a subsystem with integrative function based on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), named Geographic Intelligence (GI), a solution that provides features envisioned for management of geographic elements and singular spatial services, and makes available those elements, an intelligence related to the geospatial aspects of a given computer system, required by and applicable to many scenarios and business in world nowadays.
