Abstract :
This paper describes, from a user\´s point of view, the problems that result from the continued application of centralized power plants to digital switching systems. The user finds that centralized plants result in needless double power conversion and are less reliable for digital applications. The paper proposes a modified form of distributed power that places a low maintenance, sealed battery, between the rectifier and the converter stage of a switchmode rectifier. The system is labeled a "Split Switchmode Distributed Power Arrangement".
