Abstract :
KDD, an international telecommunications carrier in Japan, has several switching centers. The largest one is located at KDD Shinjuku Building in Tokyo. In this building, many telecommunications systems are installed for various services such as telephones, TELEX and data communications. Once the power supply fails, these telelcommunications services are severely damaged. Therefore, an emergency power generating facility is prepared to work in case of the commercial power failure. The way of controlling the power system is very complicated because the power system itself is complicated in structure with several generators and complex power feeder for many kinds of loads. And furthermore, the power system must work exactly in case of emergency. Therefore, a computerized automatic load control system, Adaptive Load Control System (ALCS) is adopted to control the emergency generators and the power feeding facilities.
