  • Abstract
It is noted that the selection of appropriate simulation software from the vast number of packages available is a difficult task. The author first presents a classification of simulation modeling tools. Then, a collection of features of simulation software is discussed. Next, guidance is provided for selecting a simulation modeling tool. Lastly, a technique to reduce the vast number of simulation modeling tools to a manageable few is described. The selection of simulation software depends on the problems to be solved as much as on the characteristics of the various modeling tools
