Abstract :
In this paper, we present an area-efficient switched-current (SI) DAC structure for current-mode AMOLED display drivers. The designed 9b SI DAC reuses a single hardware unit up to N cycles to complete the N-bit conversion. Thus, the chip size of the DAC remains nearly constant regardless of the resolution, as long as the accuracy of the current division is guaranteed, resulting in excellent area-efficiency.
