Abstract
Careflow systems are workflow management systems in healthcare domain. The main difference is a requirement of flexibility in interaction between healthcare professionals and IT environment. Case handling is one of the approaches to support flexibility of the workflow systems. A case-handling system is composed of a workflow engine that executes the process, a document manager that manipulates case data, and a database manager that manipulate global data. Yasper tool is used to define the behavioral model, Microsoft Office application InfoPath is used to define the information model. Sareflow system is evaluated based on a case study of the gastric cancer that requires flexibility. The paper describes the implementation of case-handling principles for the gastric cancer case study.
