Abstract :
Because of the discrepancy in time scales and the limitation in transmission capacity, the coordinated decision-making of transmission maintenance scheduling and unit commitment issue has become a complicated optimization problem with temporal and spatial associations. As a result, it is hard to direct solve in practical large scale power grid. On this background, we take a simple six-bus system for instance to analyze the coordination mechanism of equipment maintenance and operation in power grid from four aspects with the inclusion of load pattern division, thermal units operating characteristics, differentiation in load cycle variation, and transmission maintenance resource and crew availability. Results show the necessity of coordination, the variation of the same problem under different time scales, the discovery of differential and integral limitations as well as the exploration of methods to simplify the sophisticated problem. Such studies could lay a foundation for further research on developing an effective optimization algorithm to be applied in engineering.
