Abstract :
This paper begins with a principle of positioning using the GPS receiver: PRESTAR. It measures phase differences of the C/A code clock, the P code clock and the L1, L2 carriers. Consequently, results from these tests are described. The observed phase errors are less than one degree in the C/A and P codes, and about ten degrees in the L1 and L2 carriers. The phase errors in both carriers correspond to an error of several mm in the pseudo-range and cause a position error of 1-3 cm.
