Abstract :
The key to waste management is not what is to be done with waste or how much you pay someone to take it away, but minimising it at source. The authors describe how this can be achieved though the use of new processes which avoid or reduce the production of waste, or by recycling/converting waste into useful materials or energy during the process and within your factory. This aim poses significant challenges for science and engineering research
