Abstract :
The basic conception of risk-based security assessment (RBSA) for power system is presented, and we think that the method of risk-based security assessment has important significance for the security and stability operation of power system. By comparing risk-based security assessment with the traditional deterministic security assessment and reliability-based security assessment, it is demonstrated that risk-based security assessment is more effective for the actual operating status of power system and is the development direction of the stability operation and control of power system. The algorithm of risk-based security assessment is formed by uncertainty analysis, state selection, fault analysis and the calculation of risk indicators, which is presented in this paper. And the numerical tests of WSCC-9 and IEEE-30 are proposed, where the risk indicators such as low voltage, overload are calculated by selecting the system state with the enumeration method, analyzing the state by fault enumeration and AC power flow. By analyzing the indicators, the dispatchers can understand the security level of power system and then make decisions, which proved the validity of the algorithm of risk-based security assessment for power system.
