  • Abstract
    VHDL-AMS, the mixed signal IEEE 1076.1 standard modeling language describes mixed signal circuits. Synchronization between the analog solver and digital simulation kernel is an important challenge in mixed signal simulation. In this paper we introduce an algorithm for mixed signal simulation that reduces unnecessary interaction between digital and analog simulation kernels. For this purpose we use a common data structure, and we eliminate invocation of the digital kernel by the analog. This paper discusses our common data structure, simulation process, and analog/digital synchronization algorithm. Several examples are used to demonstrate our performance improvement.
