Abstract :
Expressions are derived for the average probability of error and average delay of a new Spread Spectrum (SS) packet communication system. Each user independently, and based on his own buffer content, will both share the available hopping frequencies and time slots with other users, or move to the fixed assignment mode (i.e. share the frequencies but only transmit in his assigned time slot). Each user will own a distinct SS code, and the information modulation is Frequency Shift Keying (FSK). The analysis takes into account both demodulation errors and the average packet delay will be studied.
