Abstract :
The increasing video multicasting application over the Internet imposes new challenges to quality of service (QoS), especially due to Internet´s inherent heterogeneous networking characteristic. A novel adaptive scheme for multicasting video is presented in this paper, in which MPEG-4 video streaming is split into different priority video layers, and QoS filtering is used on the intermediate network nodes to provide user subscribed services through RSVP signaling. The experiment results show that the scheme is capable of providing an ideal video quality for heterogeneous receivers with more efficiency and more simple system architecture
