Abstract :
France Telecom has developed RAMO, a tool for local and remote management of the telecommunication public network technological environment (such as power supply equipment, buildings, air conditioning, etc.). In larger sites, a local supervision system allows visualisation of alarms and operating states and acts upon network equipment. Smaller centers are managed from a remote supervision system connected via a private X25 network. Larger sites can also be managed from the remote system. RAMO is independent of the general management of public networks; maintenance, end-users management, accounting, etc. In the long term, this situation must evolve into a centralized structure managing all network management fields. The architecture is based on principles defined by the CCITT Recommendation M30 that describes the telecommunication management network (TMN). This article proposes several solutions for the integration of the RAMO tool and the technical environment within the TMN. However, considering current France Telecom tools, management rules, and economic aspects imply a low technical level solution that satisfies all other aspects
