Abstract :
A gyrotron intended as a compact lightweight source has been designed. 94-GHz gyrotron is driven by a 40-kV 2-A (v/vz=l.3, δ vz/vz= 1%) electron beam from a magnetron injection gun and employs a low-loss TE061/TE062 complex cavity for mode control. A output power of 26.5kW with continuous wave is obtained with cryogen-free superconducting magnet for the gyrotron, magnetic field 3.6T with operating frequency 94GHz, corresponding to an efficiency of 53% at single-stage depressed collector 7.6kV.
