Abstract
In this paper, we demonstrate bypass/drop self-routing operation for 100-Gbit/s asynchronous optical packets with an ultrafast all-optical pattern matcher based on differential spin excitation. In future optical-packet-switched ring networks, high-speed pattern-matching techniques will be essential for retrieving packets to be dropped at each node by comparing the optical label with the local address of the node.
