  • Abstract
The elaborate work division and conflicts within the overall coordination of a large complexity project give rise to a plenty of difficulties in management. An effective project management system is needed to reduce the complexity in management, and then fulfill the integration management and systematic control in large complexity projects. Based on the practice of the project management system of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, this essay defined project management system in its broad and narrow senses, analyzed its importance, and then probed into the theoretical foundation, process and key points in designing the management system for large complexity projects. It pointed out five essential parts, including "the Environment Investigation, the Project Structure Breakdown, the Project Management Organization Planning, the Decision on the Project Management Procedure and the Formation of the Standard documentation and Charts", and concluded five key points, including "being Systematic, Endogenous, Compulsory, Flexible and Durative" in project management system design. All in all, this essay is intended to provide some guidance in the management system design for the increasingly popular large complexity projects, by improving the theoretical framework of the integration management and systematic control.
