Abstract :
Tooth decay (dental caries) can be prevented with a combination of daily home care and professional care. In the daily home care for the prevention of tooth decay, tooth brushing after every meal is very significant. Consequently, tooth brushing instruction forms an important part of the work of a dentist. In this paper, we develop a decision support system which predicts the location and risk of tooth decay of a patient for the near future to help tooth brushing instruction. In our system, the risk and the location are predicted by artificial neural networks and fuzzy inference systems respectively
