  • Abstract
Scandium-bearing cathode has been paid universal attention to because it´s lower operating temperature and high emission current density. But the application is also limited greatly as these shortcomings - nonuniform emission on cathode surface, ion bombarding - sensitive and renewing difficultly after poisoning. The involved cathode in this thesis improves these shortcomings by modifying joining method of scandium oxide. After activation of the cathode, its emission surface forms the layer to consist of scandium oxide and barium oxide with thickness of a monolayer or several monolayers and shapes the emission surface with lower work function by means of scandium oxide and barium oxide. This thesis introduced main performance of the cathode analytic condition of Auger electron spectrometry and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as well as application situation to grid control TWT.
