Review of EMC design rules, a brief tour of some of the major issues

EMC compliance costs are always reduced by designing-in EMC rather than only considering it after functionality has been achieved. So using these design rules from the start of a new design is a powerful competitive tool. Many of these EMC design rules are also important for signal integrity, so implementing them can save a great deal of time and cost during product development by achieving the desired functionality sooner.
