Abstract
EMC compliance costs are always reduced by designing-in EMC rather than only considering it after functionality has been achieved. So using these design rules from the start of a new design is a powerful competitive tool. Many of these EMC design rules are also important for signal integrity, so implementing them can save a great deal of time and cost during product development by achieving the desired functionality sooner. This paper only skims the surface of the major design techniques, a great deal more could be (and has been) written about EMC and signal integrity techniques
