Abstract :
A new low profile antenna for multi-band mobile phones comprises a radiating loop strip, monopole strip, and F-shape ground pin with parasitic elements. This antenna is suitable to print on the flexible substrate to mount on the thin dielectric carrier with a volume of 55 mm×20 mm×4.5 mm. A bottom mounted with ground of U-shape antenna has been designed and ground plane of length 100mm is used. This antenna has the potential to cover the required bands of Global System for Mobile communications (GSM850/900) 824-960MHz, Digital Communication System (DCS) 1710-1880MHz, Personal Communication Services PCS 1850-1990 MHz and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) 1920-2170MHz. Details of proposed antenna are presented.
