Abstract :
Wide bandwidth and high wavelength [Very High Frequency band: 30-300MHz] are two crucial technical requirements for antennas, making their miniaturization a great challenge. These requirements are difficult to achieve especially in confined environments, where any size reduction makes the integration easier and reduces costs. The original technique proposed in this communication enables a significant reduction (up to 21%) of the lowest operating frequency of a spiral antenna without increasing its size. The reduction technique and simulation results are presented in this communication.
