  • Abstract
According to the various user level and the significant increase of Internet users, it is required a large address space as well as an environment in which anyone use the Internet service´ wherever without prior configuration or network services. The development of automatic networking technologies leads the user to connect Internet in the plug-n-play way and minimizes the role of network administrator. Especially, IPv6 based autoconfiguration network meet those requirements well. To do this, hosts and routers have to include functionality to enable IP networking by themselves without help of network administrators. In this paper we concern the autoconfiguration schemes on routers and analysis several proposed methods such as Prefix Delegation Protocol, Router Renumbering and Router Advertisement Prefix Delegation Option. In the above methods, we designed and. implemented the Automatic Prefix Delegation protocol, which is suited for IPv6 network well because of its hierarchical address architecture. That is server/client model which the lower router requests a prefix to upper router and allocates a prefix vice versa. We practically show the operation of the automatic prefix delegation using the implementation result.
