Collaborative Tagging Mechanism and Standardization Control in Douban

In order fill the gap in the research on the domestic collaborative tagging system, we select Douban as the study object to conduct this empirical research to study the collaborative tagging mechanism and standardization control. Firstly, we count and analyze the pair wise relationship among the tags, users and resources to reveal the collaborative tagging mechanism. Then we analyze the quality and standardization of users´ tag. The statistical results show that the standardization of tags is low, the quality of tags is not high and the recall ratio and precision ratio are restricted. Based on these limits of Douban, we propose some measures for improvement such as constructing the tag library, combination of tag and ontology and the recommendation of tags.
