Abstract :
As Internet growing exponentially, MPLS technology providing IP services has been developing to support highly demanded quality of services. For such demands, the MPLS networks are required with high reliability in case of network failure. One scheme for high reliability is LSP path protection in MPLS networks. In this paper we propose a mechanism of dynamic path protection, which allow traffic bypass the failure on link and/or node. Since the proposed mechanism chooses an appropriate path from already established paths without setting-up new backup path, fast path protection is performed. The proposed protection mechanism can be applied into MPLS networks with multiple failures for high reliability.
