Abstract
The problem of sound propagation in a penetrable truncated wedge is considered. Approximate analytical solution is obtained by means of mode parabolic equations method. This solution describes adiabatic sound propagation in the ocean with mildly sloping bottom in the direction across the slope (the simplest environment where 3D propagation effects are essential).
