Abstract :
This paper analyzes the characteristics of surface dust emission physical, including the threshold wind velocity and the threshold friction velocity, by using the dust storm intensifying observations in the Zhurihe area during the spring of 2006 and IMGRASS experimental data and then makes a contrast with the observations in the hinterland of Hunshandake sand-land. The result shows as follows that the mass concentration of PM10 in the western desertified area of Hunshandake sand-land is nearly proportion to the third power of the horizontal wind velocity, the fitting formula is F = 10-0.33 times U2.78. The threshold wind velocity is 5.5 m/s. The dust mass concentration of PM10 and friction velocity meet the formula F = 103.29 times u* 3.57. The friction velocity is 0.38 m/s. The physical characteristics mentioned above suggest that dust emission happens in the western fringe zone of Hunshandake but not the hinterland.
