            Abstract : 
This paper presents the methods developed at the Design Technology Research Centre (DTRC) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University for the development of a team coordination environment for product design using the Web-based virtual collaborative design environment model. The methods presented in this paper are: synchronized reciprocal design studio, asynchronous reciprocal design/construction studio, direct reciprocal exchange of schemes, joint debate, and design data resources supportability.
