Abstract :
As the digital home appliances are widely used and developed, the relevant researches on home networking solution which can access to all appliances and control them are actively processed. In lightweight home networking middleware, LookupServer manages a service list to consider the mobility and usability. However, because of the mobility and usability, dependence on LookupServer increased and the performance of system may be dropped when the LookupServer went out of order. To deal successfully with the fault, when the client requested a service, the alternate LookupServer must be selected among the near available servers, respond to the client and provide a fast service. In this paper, selecting the alternate server optimally, we propose the lightweight home networking middleware mechanism allowing fault tolerance to promote total system performance.
