Abstract :
China has made a great progress in poverty alleviation. One of the contributions is micro finance, which helps the poor access financial services. In this paper, we do surveys in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and conduct Log it models to search the determinants of a household choosing micro finance and the choice of a household in between group-lending and individual-lending, and conduct OLS model to search the influence factors to loan amount. We find that micro finance does better in helping households in poorer area with more households´ participations. Loan types do affect loan amount that households using group-lending approach borrow more. Moreover, when choosing loan type, income and macro-economy play roles that wealthier households intend group-lending and poor households prefer individual-lending.
