Abstract :
The aquatic environment is a complicated system with uncertainty. The study of uncertainty in water quality modeling can improve peoplepsilas understanding of the nature of the aquatic environment and it is important to the development of water quality modeling. The typology and sources of uncertainty is represented to improve the understanding and characterizing of the uncertainty in water quality modeling process. And according to the different sources, a comprehensive review on different methods of uncertainty study is made. The integration of different uncertainty methods, mathematical theories and algorithms is an important trend of water quality modeling research. The research on uncertainty is an essential part of water quality modeling. It is suggested that uncertainty should be investigated systemically within the entire process of water quality modeling.
