Abstract :
This paper presents the results obtained by applying the pronunciation by analogy method to grapheme to phoneme conversion for Romanian. Although the lowest obtained word error rate is 8.7 % there is much room for improvement. To our knowledge this is the first time pronunciation by analogy is applied for letter to sound conversion for Romanian.
