Abstract :
This paper discusses level sets of functions from a set U into a set C with an order structure, for example a poset or a lattice. Such sets are prevalent in fuzzy set theory. We provide some general facts and then consider the particular case when C is the complete lattice of closed intervals in the unit interval [0,1]; that is, when the function is an interval-valued fuzzy set.
