Abstract :
The capacity of a CDMA system is interference-limited. Interference cancellation techniques exploit the deterministic structure of interference to cancel their contribution from the wanted signal. Interference cancellation schemes are analysed from the view point of implementation on a W-CDMA mobile terminal. Simulation results are used to quantify the parameters that affect the performance of interference cancellation schemes. These parameters include the sensitivity to channel estimate errors, the order in which cancellation is performed and the number of active users. A partial interference cancellation scheme is also simulated. Finally, a simple interference cancellation scheme for a mobile terminal is suggested
