Abstract :
In this study, we propose a novel modulation level information (MLI) transmission scheme for adaptive multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems, in which adaptive modulation scheme (AMS) is applied to MC-CDMA. In general, AMS requires to transmit MLI, which informs a receiver about modulation parameters used in a transmitter. In the proposed MLI transmission scheme, MLI is expressed by spreading code selection patterns. To transmit MLI, data symbols are spread using the selected codes. To evaluate the proposed scheme, we compared it with a conventional scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves a lower MLI error rate.
