  • Abstract
The analysis presented in Nelson et al. (1990) is extended in order to determine the characteristics of a suspended rectangular microstrip patch resonator/antenna. By using a combination of the Hertz vector potential and the moment methods, the resonant frequency and the Q-factor are determined. The radiation characteristics, such as E-plane and H-plane diagrams, are obtained by using the stationary phase method described by Collin and Zucker (1969)
