Abstract :
Current amplifiers have been employed as an active building block for low-power active-RC 5th-order Chebyshev complex filter. High gain of the current amplifier relies on internal high impedance nodes. The amplifier´s output stage operates in a class-AB manner for maximum signal swing. Bias circuit suitable for the proposed amplifier is also introduced where it helps minimise power consumption and silicon area. Simulation results with 2-V 0.18 mum CMOS process indicate correct functionalities of the complex filter operating in Bluetooth and ZigBee modes. The whole filter consumes power less than 500uW from 1-V supply.
